Job Description
The Solution Architect Principal drives the development of architecturally significant solutions that deliver on critical business and technology outcomes for Prime’s Specialty Digital Domain. This role spans diverse projects, products, systems, shared infrastructure, and application services. By performing rigorous analysis and design, this position ensures all solutions align with business objectives and adhere to architecture governance and standards. The Solution Architect Principal contributes to continuous improvement of the Solution Architecture practice and actively participates in the Community of Practice.
Responsibilities
Technology Research & Innovation: Research emerging technologies, trends, and disruptive practices relevant to your domain. Provide actionable insights to support innovation and drive business outcomes.
Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with business and IT stakeholders to identify opportunities for technology-enabled innovation and align solutions with strategic objectives.
Architectural Design: Translate business and technical requirements into architectural blueprints to achieve business objectives. Document and communicate all architecture design and analysis deliverables effectively.
Solution Development: Create and refine solution deliverables to guide the development of products, services, projects, and systems—including applications, technologies, processes, and information.
Governance & Standards: Develop, apply, and refine principles, standards, and patterns through the architecture assurance and governance model. Ensure all solutions adhere to established frameworks.
Current & Future State Modeling: Analyze and document the current, transition, and future states of architecture for assigned areas. Identify and address critical deficiencies, technical debt, and legacy system challenges.
Technology Selection: Facilitate the evaluation and selection of software, technology products, and services. Provide guidance on standard and custom software configurations.
Collaboration with Enterprise Architecture: Partner with enterprise architects to develop reusable architecture artifacts and align solutions with enterprise strategy.
Continuous Improvement: Actively contribute to evolving the Solution Architecture practice and participate in the Solution Architecture Community of Practice.
Other Responsibilities: Perform additional duties as assigned to meet organizational goals.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience; HS diploma or GED is required
8 years of related work experience in Business Analysis, System Design and Development, Systems Engineering, or technical architecture; to include 3 years direct experience working within an Architect role
Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship
Additional Qualifications
Identifying and applying design and architecture patterns in solutions.
Translating complex business requirements into practical technical solutions.
Modern and responsive web application architectures and design.
Modern API architectures. API management, monitoring, and best practices around authentication, scalability, performance. Includes FHIR, WSO2, HL7, AWS API Gateway.
Knowledge of cloud computing. Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or GCP preferred.
Experience identifying and applying design and architecture patterns in solutions
Ability to communicate and present effectively with business and IT stakeholders to gain consensus
Ability to define, plan and initiate architecture for assigned area and scope
Demonstrate wide understanding of the domain area, with ability to apply practical and pragmatic solutions
Self-learner and ability to work independently
Experience handling a variety of solution types, such as new system builds, legacy enhancements, implementing commercial-off-the-shelf packages and integrating with Cloud solutions
Preferred Qualifications
Cross-platform mobile app: iOS/Android, Flutter, React Native, Xamarin, Cordova
Enterprise digital platform and CMS-based architecture design, experience with Liferay preferred, else Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Crafter, Wordpress
Digital omnichannel solutions including mobile, web, chat, chatbot, SMS, push notifications experiences
API management, monitoring and best practices around authentication, scalability, performance. Includes FHIR, WSO2, HL7, AWS API Gateway
Products analytics such Liferay Cloud Analytics, Google Analytics or Mixpanel
Examples of AI-enabled digital solutions, with healthcare use cases preferred
Experience working with regulatory compliance requirements (HIPAA and/or PCI)
Previous experience in PBM / health care industry
Previous experience working an in Agile/Product Delivery model
Experience with software development life cycle and project management principles
Physical Demands

Potential pay for this position ranges from $124,000.00 - $211,000.00 based on experience and skills.
