Job Description

The Health Outcomes Researcher will be responsible for overseeing data analysis and contributing to research reports for internal and external consumption. This role will work with leaders of value and outcomes projects to design studies and document methods. Studies will use medical and pharmacy data to support clinical product development and programs and contribute to Prime's clinical products, programs and clinical analytics strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Advance the knowledge and capabilities of the organization through data research and analysis, and contributing intellectual capital specifically linked to Prime

  • Conduct research focused on drug utilization, combined medical and pharmacy drug claims, with a view to the impact on patient health/clinical outcomes, healthcare utilization and financial impacts to the overall cost of care

  • Under the direction of Principal Health Outcomes Researcher, Principal Data Scientist, or Sr Dir Health Outcomes, define and document complex study methods, then direct or perform statistical modeling and model output interpretation; write white papers, internal scientific reports, and publish findings in medical journals

  • May define and document care centered contract fulfillment requirements

  • May direct clinical consulting analysts and data scientists in the analytic methods to establish production reporting to fulfill studies, analysis, or care centered contract reporting terms; accountable for quality assurance and reporting accuracy

  • Demonstrate the methods and results of analysis, reports, or studies to internal or external audiences

  • May collaborate with the Prime Trade Relations team and negotiate with pharmaceutical health outcomes team to establish care centered contract terms (e.g., value-based contracts)

  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

  • PharmD or Bachelor of Science Pharmacy degree

  • Current pharmacist license in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy in the State where the position is located

  • 1 years in clinical or research roles, including experience in managed care/pharmaceutical environment

  • -OR-

  • Master's degree in Public Health, Science or related field of study

  • 5 years of related work experience, including at least 3 years in clinical or research roles, including experience in managed care/pharmaceutical environment

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship

Additional Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Interpersonally effective; effective client presentation skills at the client leadership level

  • Statistical analysis skills

  • Demonstrated clinical study research design skills

  • Knowledge of epidemiology

Preferred Qualifications

  • PharmD or MD or PhD

  • Experience in analyzing and using healthcare claims data, publishing clinical research, epidemiology and statistics

  • Advanced training or clinical certifications

  • Draft author in industry literature

Physical Demands

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

  • Constantly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, talk and hear

  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms

  • Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, and crouch

  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Potential pay for this position ranges from $108,000.00 - $184,000.00 based on experience and skills.
